Welcome to www.RicOliva.com. Based out of Bloomington, MN (a subburb of Minneapolis and home to the Mall of America), I teach guitar & songwriting as well as perform over 100 shows a year with various groups.

In 1998 I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music with a degree in Contemporary Writing and Production. I am currently teaching private lessons at The Nechville Center for Music in Bloomington and I'm a faculty member at McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul.

In late 2000 I recorded and released my debut CD “High Class”.  In 2008 I recorded a reference library disc for Flash Forward Music featuring my original music for acoustic and classical guitar.  I currently perform solo for special occassions such as weddings as well as with larger groups. I am currently performing with 8 FOOT 4, a pop/rock party band; Soul Shack Sessions, an eclectic mix of original and popular soul/r&b/jazz and blues; World According to Garth, a tribute to country legend Garth Brooks; and do various solo acoustic and fill-in shows.
